Switching internet-access provider
Process for mobile data-only eSIM, the provider-switch verification code (OKU), inter-provider contact, and technical transfer limits.
How to start a switch
- Find the provider-switch verification code (OKU) and the tc_… service identifier in your electronic contract confirmation.
- Contact the new (receiving) provider. It leads the process; give it the OKU, service identifier, Byte development s.r.o. as the transferring provider, and the requested switching date.
- Do not delete the old eSIM until the receiving provider confirms activation. Where technically possible, we keep the existing service active until the new service starts.
Contact for receiving providers
We accept recorded communication under Czech Decree 58/2022 by email. Use [IAS SWITCHING] in the subject.
Email the switching contact: support@tvojedata.cz- the OKU and tc_… service identifier
- unambiguous identification of the receiving provider and its contact person
- the requested switching date and identification of the affected service
- confirmation of the participant's express request; do not send sensitive identity documents unless required for a specific lawful step
Timing and evidence
- The receiving provider notifies the transferring provider within one business day after receiving the participant's request.
- Byte confirms the switching order within one business day or rejects it for a lawful reason, such as an invalid OKU, a concurrent order, or missing data.
- The standard period for necessary steps is four business days unless the participant and receiving provider agree otherwise. We retain a demonstrable record and timeline of the communication.
What is technically transferred
- The travel-eSIM profile, ICCID, and unused prepaid data are not transferred. The receiving provider supplies and activates its own internet-access service.
- A data-only eSIM without a telephone number does not involve number porting. IAS switching and number portability are separate processes.
- Continuity is maintained where technically possible. If activation fails, the receiving provider should promptly notify Byte so the former service can be preserved or restored under the applicable process.
